“Let Christmas Come”- UUFF’s annual Christmas Eve Candlelight Service. We narrate the traditional biblical story with lovely and joyous music celebrating the birth of love in a world of need. Rev. Our 5th installment of Chalice Stories is a story about the 5th listed Principle: The right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within our congregations and in society at large or “All People Need a Vote.”
Our story is “Playing Fair” from Janeen Grohsmeyer’s book “a lamp in every corner: our unitarian universalist story book,” and it will be for Thursday’s Chalica celebration of our Principles. Light a Chalice, and enjoy!
There is nothing like music to get folks into the “Holiday Spirit.” This Sunday, all are welcome to join as Renée and members of the choir lead us in singing some of our most cherished holiday tunes. We will have the lyrics up on the zoom screen, and you are invited to sing along to every song, or simply enjoy good music. Either way, it should be a good time!

Here is our third installment of a Chalice Story to celebrate our Principles for Chalica! Our stories are from the book “a lamp in every corner” by Janeen K. Grohsmeyer, and this one is titled “The Rooster Who Learned to Crow,” illustrating our third listed Principle – Acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth in our congregations… or as the story puts it, “We’re free to learn together.”
So please, light a chalice or candle, enjoy the story, and contemplate how we work to help each other grow and learn, even though they may believe differently from ourselves!

Celebrating our Unitarian Universalist Principles at UU Fayetteville, AR, we’re using the stories from Janeen Grohsmeyer’s book “a lamp in every corner: Our Unitarian Universalist storybook” and her series on our Principles. We’ll have seven videos, and seven stories, for seven Principles. This story is about our First listed Principle – The Inherent Worth and Dignity of Every Person, or Each Person Is Important.
Led by Rev. Jim Parrish. Unitarian Universalism adopted the symbol of the lighted chalice back in WWII, as a sign of freedom. We’ll recount the story, as well as others that help us reflect deeply on our Principles. Our UU Principles are our values – ideals that bring us together no matter what source(s) we come from. These Principles are not written in stone; they are part of our Covenant to be negotiated and updated as needed. Join us as we share stories and music in reflection of our UU values and meaning.

With special guest, Ginger Doss. 2020 has been a year unlike any other. But within its challenges are great teachings and opportunities. Even though we have had to social distance and isolate ourselves, we can still find comfort and strength through our connections. Nurturing our compassion for one another through mindful practice can build unseen bridges that span across any distance and can nourish us in a time when we might otherwise feel so alone. 2020 is a journey we have taken together, and we can heal together as well, no matter how far apart we are.
