Pledge

tree of helping hands

Make a Pledge, Make a Difference

Every year we ask congregants and friends to make an annual pledge to the congregation. A pledge is a commitment to make a financial donation of a specific amount for a specific year.

At Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Fayetteville, you are the financial steward of all the good works, growth, and support we do.

From the pledges we pay our minister and staff, heat the building, fund programs, hire babysitters for the nursery, buy supplies for religious education, pay the water bill. All the things that you can imagine it takes to have staff, a building, a community.

Why do we request pledges each year?

A yearly pledge of support is critical. It’s how we create our budget. Only by knowing what income to anticipate in the coming year, can UUFF commit to funding the building expenses and the programs. Even if you are making regular contributions in one year, we need to know what we can count on for the following year.

How much should I give?

The Fair Share Guide is a valuable tool to help you determine gifting and pledging support based on your financial capacity and involvement in your Fellowship.

The most important thing is simply to give generously of the abundance in your life, whether that be once a year, once a week, or with the coins you found in the couch cushions.

How to Pledge

As a member, you’ll receive a pledge form in the mail. Fill out the form and mail it back. You may also download a copy of pledge form, print, and return it.

We also encourage online giving. Our online giving option allows you to donate to the fellowship as a whole, or tailor you donation: some options are operating funds, pledges, discretionary funding, sharing the plate, community outreach, fair trade coffee purchases, and more. Visit the online giving page to see your options and contribute.

MAKE YOUR PLEDGE PAYMENT ONLINE

PREFER TO USE YOUR PHONE? THERE’S AN APP FOR THAT:
The Give+ mobile app allows you to contribute to your Fellowship through your smartphone via credit card, debit card, or bank draft. You can find it in both the App Store or Google Play. Search for “GivePlus.”

  • Download the Give+ app (for free) and open it.
  • Enter the zip code 72701. Select UUFF as the church to which you wish to give and follow the prompts.
  • The Give+ app also provides the options of either one-time gifts or recurring donations.

There are also video instructions for installing the app, if needed.

Questions about online giving?

How does giving online benefit the church?

It ensures regular monthly contribution income, stabilizing the flow of income into the church and helping the treasurer maintain a consistent amount of money to pay the bills. Even more, this process truly saves many hours of volunteer time by our office staff and Treasurer.

How does giving online benefit me?

If you travel, work, or just can’t always make it to church, you don’t need to worry about getting your contribution in the offering plate or having to mail it in. It’s one less thing to worry about with your busy schedule.

How do automated contributions work?

You select a payment method, start date, frequency and contribution amount. On the scheduled date(s), donations will be processed and deposited into the church bank account

When will my contributions be processed?

You select a payment method, start date, frequency and contribution amount. On the scheduled date(s), donations will be processed and deposited into the church bank account

What can I use to show I made a donation?

The itemized list of electronic transactions that appear on your bank or credit card statement can be used as proof of your donations.

Will I receive a receipt?

Yes. You will receive a receipt via email, and you will also be able to view transactions in your giving history. Guest donors will receive a receipt if they choose to enter their email address when completing a donation.

Is electronic giving safe?

Absolutely. We use Vanco Solutions, LLC to process your pledges and donation. Vanco meets or exceeds all industry standards to safeguard your data. To help ensure your data stays safe, Vanco leverages technology such as tokenizing card data and encrypting sensitive information for transmission and storage.
