Religious Exploration

Learning for a Lifespan

We provide children, youth, young adults, and adults an opportunity to explore, reflect, and learn in a nurturing spiritual community. Unitarian Universalist religious exploration programs offer something for all ages, inspiring and developing:

  • Ethical growth – internalizing enduring values like justice, equity, and compassion, and gaining tools to act on them in everyday life.
  • Social growth – connecting with peers and people of all ages on a deeper level. Finding acceptance among people who see beyond the superficial.
  • Spiritual growth – feeling a connection with the sacred within, among, and beyond us.

Children and Youth RE

The religious education program at UUFF exists to cultivate our children and youth’s capacity to love radically, wonder continually, and change the world with acts of bravery and compassion. We do this using the tools of our historic and progressive faith, Unitarian Universalism, and within the covenanted church community of UUFF. We also encourage children to be in our “regular” worship frequently so we interact as a community.

Learn more about our Children and Youth RE program.

Adult Religious Education

Our Adult Religious Exploration programs give us the chance to go deeper— intellectually, socially, ethically, and spiritually. We are a diverse group in Adult RE, and we explore a multitude of topics ranging from the rich history of Unitarian Universalism to philosophy, world religion, ethics, morality, current events, and more. We have fun, and learn from each other through collaborative conversations, debates and discussions. We hope you join us.

Meditation

Meditation is held weekly before Sunday service. The period of meditation is followed by a short reading and discussion between 10:30 – 10:45.

It doesnʼt matter what type of meditation you do, or if you have ever meditated before, you are welcome to come meditate in the UUFF Annex building (across Storer from UUFF in the west-nearest Storer-side of the annex). ALL ARE WELCOME. Enter through the front door.

April 18 – “Climate Justice for All”

This Sunday, we honor the Earth with our “Climate Justice for All,” service and speaker, Shelley Buonaiuto. Many of us are very concerned about climate change and the detrimental and often disparate impacts on communities both locally and globally. We will examine these struggles and share actions we can take to accomplish positive environmental and […]
