The controversial Senate Bill 43 and House Bill 1156 are making their way through the Arkansas government. In this service, Rev. Steven shares some of what they’ve learned from research about the bills. What are they? Why do some people want them? Why do others object? How can we live out our First Principle in this context?

This Monday was Martin Luther King Jr. Day, a day when many people celebrated his “I Have a Dream” speech and commended his nonviolence. In this Sunday’s service, Rev. Steven helps us reflect on King’s more complex legacy and consider the complicated relationship between violence and nonviolence in the ongoing battle for systemic justice.

Does a literal hell exist? Most Americans think it does and that anyone who doesn’t believe the right things will be eternally tortured. Did you know that the Universalist part of UUism is rooted in the idea of universal salvation – that all will be saved? We invite you to join us as our own Dr. Gene Vinzant presents reasons to believe that hell doesn’t exist.

As we feared, the snow has not melted since the winter storm that came through on Thursday, and it is obvious that we would be putting folks at risk by holding the Christmas Eve and/or Christmas Day Services. As much as we’d love to gather together in community this Holiday Season, his is safety concern that cannot be ignored.
So please stay safe, warm, well, and cozy…and we’ll plan to see everyone on Sunday, January 1, 2023!
