November 3 – “Getting Good with God: Deepening Our Relationship with Religious Pluralism.”

October 30, 2024 by Fawn Smith

Religious pluralism can be a difficult concept. Melly will help us explore how being open to the existence of beliefs outside of our own can make us more compassionate people and better UU’s. REMINDER: Daylight Saving Time ends this Sunday, so we will “fall back” an hour.

You can attend service in person at the fellowship building or view it remotely online via Facebook Live Stream. To attend live via Facebook, wait until 11am Central Daylight Time (CDT) and go to: https://www.facebook.com/share/WAoMJm4gSczgpBPz/ and click on “Watch Live Video. October 27 – “An Ozark Hallowed Eve Service”

October 23, 2024 by Fawn Smith

Come join us in a time of remembrance as the veil between worlds grows thin. We will share regional spooky stories, and the Choir will lead us in singing, chanting, and drumming. You are invited to bring a photo or memento of your Beloved Dead (people and/or pets) to add to our community ancestor altar during the ritual, and if you wish, please attend in your finest mourning and/or witchy garb. Stay for the potluck after the ritual! CHOIR MEMBERS: Please gather in the Sanctuary at 10am to rehearse for the 11am service!

October 20 – “UU Core Values – Acceptance to Action”

October 16, 2024 by Fawn Smith

Singer/Songwriter Nancy Day will come speak (and sing!) to us about UU Core Values. From Nancy Day: “I realized when considering the UU Core Values, I wanted to ask myself about each value, and if I accepted each one on a personal level. I asked myself per value, what I need to consider before going into action with these values for myself, my loved ones and my local and global community. Acceptance allows for movement, for authenticity, for change.”

October 13 – “UU the Vote”

October 8, 2024 by Fawn Smith

Unitarian Universalists have a long and rich legacy of getting involved in the political process to promote our values and principles. From our work for marriage equality, women’s suffrage, the abolition of slavery, for civil and voting rights, to advocating for a path to citizenship for immigrants, to taking on white supremacy today. Join us Sunday as a group of our own members, including Bettie Lu Lancaster, Janet Titus, Elizabeth Hancock, Susie Schroeder, and Gene Vinzant, challenge us to UU the Vote!

October 6 – “A Service of Belonging”

October 2, 2024 by Fawn Smith

We all want to feel like we belong – in our family, in social groups, at work, and most importantly, in our own skin. We yearn to step free from any “closet” we may have been hiding in so that we might live as our authentic selves. Join us this Sunday as we officially welcome UUFF’s newest members and celebrate the beauty of belonging!
