June 11 – “Shared Ministry”

June 7, 2023 by Fawn Smith

The second-to-last service led by Rev. Dr. Stevie Gaines in their role as UUFF Minister. In their two messages this month, they speak on topics that they deem very important for us. This Sunday, they lead us in considering the idea of shared ministry. We’ll explore the feedback process that Unitarian Universalists typically think of as shared ministry, as well as a team approach to our work. The service was informative, encouraging, challenging, and uplifting!

Poetry Sunday is a tradition started by our beloved Minister Emeritus, Rhett Baird, and some people say it’s their favorite service of the year. What is your personal relationship to poetry? Renée Janski leads us as we examine the power of poetry in our lives, and several UUFF’ers read or recite their favorite poems!

April 9 – “What’s in Your Egg?”

April 4, 2023 by Fawn Smith

Many people celebrate Easter by dressing up, hunting eggs, eating candy, spending time with family, and remembering Jesus. Unitarian Universalists have various and often conflicting thoughts about Jesus. What can we all learn from the story of the resurrection of Jesus, even if we don’t accept it as historical fact? In this service, Rev. Steven helps us think about how Easter can empower us to live more fully in alignment with our principles.

Join us as our own Bill Nichols speaks on “Human Induced Climate Change.” Bill will talk about what humans are doing to cause climate change and what we can do to help stop it.
