The connection between Jesus and his disciples was unusually strong for that time in history. Could that have affected the understanding of the resurrection? Jesus lived in a dark time in history, and his teachings and ideals were bright and full of light. What are our bright lights during dark times today? Choir will sing this Sunday, and we’ll have a special performance by the NWA Raging Grannies. Children are invited to participate in an Egg Hunt after service (rain or shine)!

Brought to you by the UUFF Justice Team and Joanna Person-Michener, PhD climate-aware therapist, University of Arkansas Environmental Resilience instructor, and long-time climate advocate—join us for an informed and inspiring message as we explore the moral and spiritual call to respond to the climate crisis. Grounded in our Unitarian Universalist principles, this service will connect the science of climate change with the urgent need for climate justice—highlighting global inequities, generational impacts, and the disproportionate burdens faced by BIPOC communities, women, and children. We will also introduce the UUA’s Green Sanctuary Program and share how UUFF has begun this journey, starting with our recent collaboration on the Interfaith Climate Retreat. Come be part of the conversation and the action as we envision a more just and sustainable future—together.

Family Promise is a national non-profit organization that works to prevent and end homelessness for families with children by helping them achieve sustainable independence through a community-based response. Traditional healing in the old Ozarks was a holistic system that addressed both physical needs and the needs of the mind/soul. Many healthcare providers today are looking into the benefits of this more traditional approach, especially in areas with larger Indigenous populations as well as those servicing communities with a lot of fear surrounding modern healthcare. So we have to ask, “What can we still learn from traditional healing today?” Brandon Weston, Ozarks traditional healing expert and published author, will be our speaker this Sunday!

We will announce space survey results and move into action! Do you want to listen and discuss Chopin with Brenda? Or participate in a political activity with Kate? In honor of Women’s History Month, UUFF member Dr. Natalie Emmons will speak on the feminist movement in the US and how Unitarian Universalism has embraced and embedded the concepts of equal rights and feminism within its theology and practice. Jori Costello will perform original music and lead us in music encouraging us to Rise Up. Attendees are invited to wear their favorite equal rights and social justice activism clothing and accessories.

When it feels like oppression has a chokehold on freedom and diversity, that’s when we must stand up, center marginalized voices, and make visible those told to be invisible by people in power. Join Ben and Rev. Renée as we welcome everyone to the UUFF table. We will also introduce and officially welcome UUFF’s newest members with a special ceremony led by Rev. Renée, Charlotte, LeAnda, and Edith! REMINDER: Daylight Savings Time Begins this weekend. We will “Spring Forward” an hour for Sunday morning.

Ash Wednesday is a holy day of prayer and fasting in many Western Christian denominations, but what kind of significance or meaning might such a day have to us as UU’s? Melly will be our speaker, offering their unique perspective and insight as they lead us in this special UUFF-style Ash Wednesday Service.

The Sanctuary will open for meditation at 6:30pm, with the service beginning at 7pm. All are welcome!

Often stigmatized and misrepresented in our society, atheism has nevertheless made enormous strides in popularity in the United States, Western Europe, and elsewhere. Yet atheism remains a widely misunderstood position. Is it simply the belief that there is no God? Is atheism entirely negative? Can atheists have morals? Can they be happy? Join us this Sunday as speaker Doug Krueger, who authored a popular book on atheism, addresses all of these questions and more. This is also CHOIR SUNDAY!

Many Unitarian Universalists would describe themselves as humanists. But what exactly is humanism? Is it a religion? Are all humanists atheists or agnostics, and are all atheists and agnostics also humanists? What is morality and ethics according to humanism? A sense of belonging is one of the deepest needs we all have. Yet, we live in a time when people are often separated and alone.
