Join Renée Janski in an excursion back to the fascinating roots of UUism as we dive into the 5 Smooth Stones of Liberal Religion as identified by James Luther Adams and what it means to us that “Revelation is ongoing.” Also, the music for the “5 Smooth Stones” sermon series will evolve through the periods. For this first service of the series, we’ll showcase music from the Renaissance period (1400-1600). Brenda will play for us authentic music from the period, and because our hymnals don’t have these styles, we have chosen hymns in Latin for Stephanie to lead, because all church music was in Latin during the Renaissance! And hey – the Protestant Reformation also began during the Renaissance! See where this is going?
