March 23 – “Shifting Seasons”

March 20, 2025 by Fawn Smith

It’s the Equinox! But does it feel more like early Summer? We perceive the seasonal changes, and some find them holy, but is climate change affecting our connection to the Wheel of the Year? This Sunday, we’ll celebrate our Spring Equinox and hear what Melly has to say about “Shifting Seasons.”

You can attend service in person at the fellowship building or view it remotely online via Facebook Live Stream. To attend live via Facebook, wait until 11am Central Standard Time (CST) and go to https://www.facebook.com/share/15mtXvhFXd/ and click on “Watch Live Video. March 9 – “Everyone is Welcome at Our Table”

March 6, 2025 by Fawn Smith

When it feels like oppression has a chokehold on freedom and diversity, that’s when we must stand up, center marginalized voices, and make visible those told to be invisible by people in power. Join Ben and Rev. Renée as we welcome everyone to the UUFF table. We will also introduce and officially welcome UUFF’s newest members with a special ceremony led by Rev. Renée, Charlotte, LeAnda, and Edith! REMINDER: Daylight Savings Time Begins this weekend. We will “Spring Forward” an hour for Sunday morning.

You can attend service in person at the fellowship building or view it remotely online via Facebook Live Stream. To attend live via Facebook, wait until 11am Central Standard Time (CST) and go to  https://www.facebook.com/share/1A8P39V9ib/ and click on “Watch Live Video. March 5th (6:30pm) – “Ash Wednesday Service”

March 2, 2025 by Fawn Smith

Ash Wednesday is a holy day of prayer and fasting in many Western Christian denominations, but what kind of significance or meaning might such a day have to us as UU’s? Melly will be our speaker, offering their unique perspective and insight as they lead us in this special UUFF-style Ash Wednesday Service.

The Sanctuary will open for meditation at 6:30pm, with the service beginning at 7pm. All are welcome!

March 2 – “What is Atheism?”

February 26, 2025 by Fawn Smith

Often stigmatized and misrepresented in our society, atheism has nevertheless made enormous strides in popularity in the United States, Western Europe, and elsewhere. Yet atheism remains a widely misunderstood position. Is it simply the belief that there is no God? Is atheism entirely negative? Can atheists have morals? Can they be happy? Join us this Sunday as speaker Doug Krueger, who authored a popular book on atheism, addresses all of these questions and more. This is also CHOIR SUNDAY!

Choir members, please meet in the sanctuary at 9:45am for rehearsal!

You can attend service in person at the fellowship building or view it remotely online via Facebook Live Stream. To attend live via Facebook, wait until 11am Central Standard Time (CST) and go to https://www.facebook.com/share/1L7KJwWBgz/and click on “Watch Live Video. February 23 – “What is Humanism?”

February 20, 2025 by Fawn Smith

IMPORTANT NOTE: UUFF is closed this Sunday due to hazardous travel conditions. All in-person events/services have been cancelled for Sunday, 02/23/2025. This 11am Service will be conducted over Zoom, and it will also be live streamed through our Facebook page (links below).

Many Unitarian Universalists would describe themselves as humanists. But what exactly is humanism? Is it a religion? Are all humanists atheists or agnostics, and are all atheists and agnostics also humanists? What is morality and ethics according to humanism? Join us REMOTELY this Sunday as our own Dr. Gene Vinzant addresses these as he speaks on “What is Humanism?”
