Our second UU Principle calls us to “Justice, equity and compassion in human relations.” There are so many opportunities for us to live those words, and our guest speaker, Margarita Solórzano, shares about the Hispanic Women’s Organization of Arkansas and tell us what we can do to support our Hispanic neighbors here in NWA!

Learn more about HWOA:
In the late 1990’s, Margarita Solórzano and several other women, mostly Hispanic, recognized a need within the growing Hispanic community of Northwest Arkansas that wasn’t being adequately met. In July 1999, these amazing women responded to that need by founding the Hispanic Women’s Organization of Arkansas (visit https://www.hwoa.org/ for more info). HWOA is a non-profit community organization whose mission is “to advance educational opportunities for Hispanic women and their families, to celebrate and teach others about our cultures, and to become active participants in the community.” Margarita currently serves as the Executive Director of the HWOA.
