Topic this Sunday: “Understanding Evangelical Christianity in the U.S.”
Our discussion group this week will explore the current state of evangelical Christianity as reported on by Tim Alberta in his 2023 book, The Kingdom, The Power, and The Glory. The book offers a well-researched and powerful portrait of evangelical Christians, the history of the politicalization of evangelical Christianity, and Christian nationalism in today’s America. In addition to being a political reporter, the author is himself an evangelical Christian whose father was a pastor. We are delighted to welcome two wonderful Mindful Discussions participants, Laura Brewer and Rev. John Johnson, in presenting along with Kate this week. Join us as we explore this fascinating book and the timely issues it addresses.
