Topic this Sunday: “Cultural Curiosity: Building Cultural Awareness.” As our society becomes increasingly diverse, many of us are seeking ways of becoming more culturally aware or culturally competent. Many workplaces have programs that aim to enhance cultural sensitivity among employees in order to improve communication and understanding, and help people work together more effectively. Implicit in our UU principle around the inherent worth and dignity of every person is an acceptance of and appreciation for people of all cultures. Our discussion this week will focus on the ways each of us have sought to learn about and appreciate the broad array of cultures represented in the US and around the world. We hope you’ll join us.
