Adults are welcome to join us at 10am each Sunday for a time of facilitated “Mindful Discussion.” There is a new topic each week, and it will be advertised in the weekly eNews the week beforehand. Please reach out to Brooke Eldredge or Kate Kowalski by emailing office@uufayetteville.org if you have specific questions.
Topic this Sunday: “Political Empathy.” Empathy is the ability to understand the feelings, thoughts, and experiences of others. We’re used to thinking about empathy on a personal level, but how might we think about it in a political context? Political empathy is defined as the capacity to understand and consider the diverse life experiences and perspectives of others, particularly those with differing political views or social backgrounds. And, it is the conscious effort to apply empathetic skills—both emotional and cognitive—within the political realm. We hope you’ll join us as we explore this timely topic.
