Date: 10/27/2024
Time: 10:00 am - 10:45 am
Location: Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Fayetteville
All are invited to gather downstairs in the common area of the fellowship building on Sundays at 10am for a facilitated discussion focused on a specific topic (advertised in the eNews the week before).
Topic this Sunday: “The Care Economy: What is it and Why is it Important.” The care economy encompasses all the paid and unpaid work that improves the well-being of people who are dependent on care. It includes:
- Childcare
- Eldercare
- Health services
- Education
- Domestic work, such as cooking and cleaning
The availability of care and care workers is integral to maximizing workforce participation and building a healthy, resilient economy. A continuum of care for children, sick loved ones, older adults, people with disabilities and workers themselves is and always has been vital to sustain families, protect jobs, and drive economic growth. Join us as we discuss what the candidates in this year’s election are proposing related to the care economy.
