Endings and new beginnings, led by Melly and Renée Janski
Our recordings include sermons given by our own ministers, intern ministers, lay leaders, and special guests. Play these podcasts on our website, or download them to listen later.
We've been collecting audio recordings of sermons since 2013. Visit our sermons library to explore sermons by year.
Led by Rev. Jim Parrish and Renée Janski. UUFF Choir will sing and drum to celebrate the returning light!
We are surrounded by religious and secular seasonal celebrations this time of year, with a lot of meaning for some, and little for others depending on traditions and belief. Scriptures, or texts that contain/explain beliefs and philosophies important to how one lives their life play into and inform these celebrations. There are obvious, and not so obvious scriptures for Christmas, Hanukkah, and even Solstice celebration. What are your scriptures for life? Bring your book, or poem, the title of your “scripture” for living to share.
Led by Melly, with Christmas jazz by RJ, Mike, and Renée and carols for all! Please bring an ornament or two to help decorate our gathering space. We will share the plate with Peace at Home Shelter.
Sharing the Plate: Each year Peace at Home works with hundreds of survivors of violence in our community as they work to rebuild their lives. Loose collection plate money and specially-designated cash/checks (please write “share plate” on envelope or check memo line) will be given to this valuable local organization. Join us for a lot of singing and dancing to the music of the Beatles, led by Renée Janski!
We celebrate our annual Bread/Cider Communion and welcome UUFF’s newest me
Led by Sura Gail Tala. Sura is both a Sufi and a Unitarian Universalist! Her specialty is Sufi storytelling, a time-honored approach to transmitting the truths at the heart of the tradition.
Led by Rev. Jim Parrish. Join us as we entertain this possibility.
Led by Rev. Jim Parrish. Attendees were invited to bring a photo or memento of someone (pets are people, too!) you have lost and wish to hold in your heart during this very special time of year. An altar was set up for placement of the items, so that we could all share in the special remembrance, as a community of love and support.
Our stewardship of UUFF is a voyage to the future. Service led by Rev. Jim Parrish.
Led by guest speaker, Dr. Michael Pierce. More info on Dr. Pierce can be found here.
Religion is about our relationships, and the stories we tell ourselves about those relationships matter. There are many creation stories, as many as religions and some even scientific in nature, informing folks of what their relationship with the world/universe might look like.
Led by Rev. Jim Parrish, we explored some of the meanings and outcomes of “Creation Stories.”
