What elements make for a meaningful life? And how is the stress of the current social and political climates a unique opportunity for enhancing the quality of our lives?

Speaker Info: Dr. Doug Krueger is a professor of Philosophy and World Religions at NWACC. He has spoken at UUFF annually for several years in a row, and it is always a pleasure to take in his calm spirit, unique perspective, and wealth of knowledge.

  • All are invited to participate in UUFF’s Sunday morning meditation, held weekly at 9:30am via zoom. Typically a mixture of meditation and reading/discussion. Caroline Lennox and Ines Polonius are co-leads, so if you have any questions (such as “what is the zoom link needed to join?”), please email the UUFF office at uuff.ar@gmail.com and Administrator will put you in touch with them.

  • Sunday, Jun 26 - 10:00 am - 10:45 am
  • Sunday 10am Adult Religious Exploration Discussion Group - meeting in person at UUFF!
  • This Sunday, 06/26/2022: Said one well-known person, “Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.”  Another is quoted as saying “When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life.” Who are these authors?
Join us as we view quotes from a variety of sources – philosophers, artists, inventors, and authors.  What was the intention of their words? Is there positive guidance for us in these messages?
This is the last ARE Discussion Group of the summer. We will NOT MEET during the months of July and August. SUMMER BREAK! We’ll return to 10am Discussions in September.

The ARE discussion is held weekly before Sunday service. It is a facilitated conversation where lively conversation and sharing of personal experience is encouraged. Each week the topic changes and is advertised in our weekly email to congregants.

There is no need to sign up, just join the us at UUFF in the common room downstairs 10am each Sunday morning.  Sadly, we are unable to offer a zoom option for participating at this time. Masks are optional and vaccinations are encouraged.

  • UUFF Grounds Work Days - each Thursday from 9-11am (unless it's raining) at UUFF!
  • The UUFF Grounds Crew is once again gathering for weekly work days each Thursday from 9-11am. The crew always needs more helping hands, so if you are free even just for half an hour, please come on over to UUFF.
We’re happy to report that the hard work in the Storla Memorial Garden in particular has fostered a peaceful green space that is gaining popularity within the surrounding neighborhood. In fact, it’s not uncommon to hear the excited giggles and pitter patter of energetic little feet around the UUFF grounds these days, as caregivers from the Tyson Child Development Center (at the top of Storer Ave.) often bring the kids down for a mini field trip.
That’s creating a positive difference in our world, y’all! Something to be proud of and a worthwhile volunteer opportunity.
