January 26 – “Mutual Aid as a Strategy for Thriving in Challenging Times.”

January 23, 2025 by Fawn Smith

Mutual aid is a practice centered around sharing resources and services with those around us. It’s the embodiment of “build a longer table, not a higher wall.” Join Katy Wagner for a look into how this model can help each of us build strong, thriving communities in spite of the imperfect world we live in, and envision a life where everyone has what they need.

You can attend service in person at the fellowship building or view it remotely online via Facebook Live Stream. To attend live via Facebook, wait until 11am Central Standard Time (CST) and go to: https://www.facebook.com/share/1B3v6yxHWx/ and click on “Watch Live Video. January 19 – “Why did Jesus, Moses, Buddha, and Muhammad Cross the Road?”

January 7, 2025 by Fawn Smith

Inclement weather caused us to have to cancel service on the 12th, so Rev. John Johnson will give his sermon this Sunday instead! Yay! — For centuries, the simple teachings of Jesus have been poisoned by the dogma that Christianity is the only true religion and only those who adhere to a certain set of beliefs will be “saved.” This, in part, helps us understand why so many former Christians have fled the Church and continue to do so. It also reveals the danger of the current white “Christian Nationalist” movement. How different history might have been if these prophetic figures could have sat down and had a meal and a conversation together! Rev. John Johnson will be our speaker. Join us!

What do these three things have in common: gardening, cleaning your teeth, and beets? What seeds are you planting for 2025? Join Rev. Renée and plant literal and figurative seeds with your UU family in our second annual Rainbow Seed Communion.

Sunday, December 22 – “Three Kings and a Star: The Importance of Stories.”

December 21, 2024 by Fawn Smith

What are Magi, anyway? Why do we keep telling this tale? What if it isn’t real, what if it is? As UU’s, we want to know the whole story. Join Rev. Renée as we dig a little deeper. This is a Choir Sunday!

CHOIR MEMBERS, please meet in the sanctuary at 9:45am for rehearsal. Thanks!
