Chalice Circles-We are looking for people who want to be involved in chalice circles, both as leaders and circle members! One great way to meet UUFF members and friends is through our monthly Circle Suppers. We try to meet on the 4th or 5th Saturday of each month. The group is re-shuffled each month, so you have the opportunity to get to know lots of long-time and new members and friends of UUFF. We especially encourage new members, visitors and friends of UUFF to join.
We’d love to have new additions to the group, so whether you’re new to UUFF, a first-time visitor, a long-time member or a friend of UUFF, please think about joining us. If you haven’t done Circle Suppers in a long time, you’ll find that many new folks are ready and anxious to meet you. And if you’re a newer member, visitor or friend of UUFF, it’s really one of the best ways to start making connections with others. The next gathering will be on Saturday, February 24th. Please email Mike at email@example.com with questions or to get on the list!
Provide flowers for UUFF Sanctuary on Sundays
Sign-up sheet with Sunday dates listed in lobby or via this link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1MfxECBosEKJSOEgCGUhjJtC1HbEmwX1eAJnox_9GyYA/edit?usp=sharing All you need to do is put your name and contact info by chosen date, and be sure to let us know if the flowers you plan to provide are in honor of some special occasion or person or just because. If you know you want to provide flowers on a specific future Sunday but can’t make it to the fellowship to sign up, please email firstname.lastname@example.org, and we’ll be more than happy to put you on the list. An email reminder will be sent during the week before “your Sunday.” Note also that we have PLENTY of vases here for use, so that’s one less thing to worry about.
Greeter/Usher and Coffee Hour Sign-Ups
What does it mean to be a welcoming community? One thing is to greet those who come on Sunday morning with a warm smile, a hardy handshake and a friendly reminder to wear their nametag….
We would like to have three greeters/ushers each Sunday. One to be aware of visitors, another to be sure everyone gets an order of service, and a third for backup and to direct folks to the Sanctuary, RE or restrooms.
It takes a village to make warmth and welcoming a reality every Sunday morning and YOU CAN HELP! Below is a link to the Greeter/Usher Volunteer sign-up sheet. Please take a moment to put your name down for one or two Sundays. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1cTXf4UslwIGppnmiBgUN_jaUQL8ZVVAncSwq6FE6-8A/edit?usp=sharing
Coffee Hour Hosting is another very important opportunity to serve. You can sign up as a volunteer to host via this link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/17bmSY2FfoZjyubPnjYfNuzVd9QG-XRAvm0zUqKNPNMc/edit?usp=sharing
You will receive an email reminder a few days before your shift with a list of greeter/usher or coffee hour host duties to help orient you. Most Sundays will have a lead greeter/usher from the Membership Committee to help make this important task fun and anxiety-free!
Outside Events & Opportunities
Final Exit Network Guest Speaker at UUC Little Rock at 11am on February 11th.
Julia Hanway from the Final Exit Network will speak on the human right to a death with dignity. Everyone is welcome. If you would like to attend and might need hospitality, please contact Karen Walls- UUCLR Administrator- at email@example.com . The Final Exit Network mission is to provide practical education about self-deliverance with dignity for those people who qualify and are facing intractable pain, unbounded suffering, or an unacceptable quality of life, and to provide a compassionate presence for those who so choose. Final Exit Network is a volunteer organization serving individuals in all 50 states who are suffering from intolerable medical circumstances, are mentally competent, want to end their lives, and meet their official, written criteria. They offer the most current information known for self-deliverance when the client is ready to choose. Safeguards are in place to ensure that the person’s decision is voluntary and repeatedly stated.
